Bad variable replaced in view.html.erb file leading to render/cache issue

Hi,

Well, I thought I would be clever and replace a variable in the view.html.erb file

<input type=“hidden” name=“password” value="<%= password %>">

With

<input type=“hidden” name=“password” value="<%= RSTUDIO_PASSWORD %>">

So I get the error below. After about 5 min, a couple of server restarts, the error doesn’t clear. What do I have to flush to get rid of this? The erb file is currently fixed.

Update: the issue seems to have cleared itself sometime overnight.

This is now a question: would this issue have effected other users use of OOD?

So it appears that if the rendering of the view.html.erb results in an exception that exception is unhanded - thus the crash. I’m not sure what you mean by “the issue seems to have cleared itself sometime overnight”. Did you revert the functionality?

What I mean is that last night I was not able to get past the crash. Restarting the web server, logging out, refreshing, etc all landed me back on the same crash screen even though I had reverted to the proper view.html.erb form. When I started back up this morning, I was able to get back to a proper session.

When you say “Restarting the web server” do you mean restarting Apache or restarting your PUN by selecting “Restart Web Server” from the dropdown in the dashboard?

Just the dropdown. We (I) don’t have enough privs to do an Apache restart.
